My whole life is about competition, because in college I try to achieve the highest grade point average. I figured out that my STEM skills are below the average college student.
Now, I’m learning from the Openstax ebook “Pre-Algebra”. It opened my mind to mathematics. Then I realized that I should learn this subject more seriously because I like math.
The reason why I hated math in college and high school is because of my different point of view. Math is an abstract subject.
My “ohhh” moment was when I read an article by Sidney Coleman, “Fate of the False Vacuum: Semi-Classical Theory.”
I realized that my curiosity to know more about the universe is very strong. I couldn’t even read the equations in the paper, but I wrote them down and tried to figure them out.
That’s why I learn math. From 1K pages in the ebook, now I’m on page 502. In my spare time, I develop my math foundation.
If you have something to do or are trying to chase your dreams. I urge you to be passionate about it.
I still cannot fully read the paper, and my learning process is not very consistent. But I’m sure that we’re gonna make it (WAGMI).
I’m obsessed with math. This is very unique, because usually people become obsessed with things they like.
